For me Christmas is one of the biggest times of year with all the media preparation, services, rehearsals, etc. Sunday, we were cuing up some videos for playback in service when the video deck went haywire decided not to work or eject the tape. This happened 2 minutes before service start time. Wow! bad timing. I had a minor freak out, put the videos on DVD and went on with service. That seemed to start a chain reaction of things going wrong. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!
We managed to get through both services with just a few glitches caused from the malfunctioning deck. I'm sure most people don't even notice these when stuff happens but for me there's nothing worse than something going wrong that causes a glitch in our service.
Now, we're all set and ready to roll for 3 Christmas Eve services. I'm really excited. Mike and I spent a lot of time preparing something special for everyone. You'll know it when you see it. Trust me. If you're not able to make it for any of the 3 services (planned for your convenience) I'll post up a video when I return on the 1st.

If you were at the Falling Up concert last night I hope you had as good of time as I did. I know I was in the back mixing all the video but I still had a great time. Each of the guys were great to work with and a lot of fun to talk to. Their music had a lot of energy and I thought sounded a lot like the album considering it was a live show. If you weren't there I will be posting up some videos next week on youtube to check out.
Falling Up is going to be live in concert wednesday night. I'm really excited. It's been great planning this event because I'm a big fan and love their music. Make sure you're there and invite all your friends, family and neighbors.

This week I finished the script for our new Christmas series TV commercial. One thing I struggled with was how to word the invitation at the end so it would make sense to the average viewer. Huge lesson, don't assume people know what you're talking about. Mike and I had a discussion about this topic last week. Who knows what a "series" is? Because we go to church of course we know that its a group of themed messages on a specific topic but who else would know that. Be as obvious as you can and hope they take action on what you're communicating.
Church Marketing Sucks wrote a post about this topic today and shared this video that brought it all home. Enjoy.
I was talking with someone last night and we were talking about Christmas. They commented that Christmas is only 7 weeks away. Immediately my heart rate skyrocketed and my mind started to race. Of course I played it off but inside I was freakin out man. So much to do by then, better get started!
